xperience the wonder and awe of the dark skies above Northstar California during our popular summer Tahoe Star Tours!

Inspired by the growing popularity of the annual summer star gazing series in the Northern Sierra, Tahoe Star Tours is back at its viewing venue, the Dark Skies Cosmoarium, for those who want to learn about and experience the night sky Thursday and Saturday evenings from June 13 through September 5, 2015.

Offering convenient access for guests lodging or visiting the resort, the Cosmoarium will be located near the entrance to Northstar on the lower level of the Castle Peak parking area. Featuring wide, unobstructed horizons for viewing, the provides Tahoe Star Tours participants with comfortable seating, fire pits, outdoor heaters and blankets, complimentary hot chocolate, coffee and s’mores, as well as convenient, free on-site parking just a short walk from the viewing site.

Star Guide extraordinaire, Tony Berendsen, owner of Tahoe Star Tours and president of the Northern Nevada Science Coalition, will lead you on an exploration of the skies. He’ll provide and informative Star Tour Astronomy presentation, a laser tour of the stars and telescopic viewing through multiple state-of-the-art computerized Celestron telescopes, all while gathered around a fire pit enjoying warm treats. And you won’t leave empty handed – all guests will earn the status of “Star Guide” along with a badge that you can take home to remember your experiences.

Tahoe Star Tours events are $35 for adults and $20 for children ages 12 and under. Tours begin at 8:15 p.m. and conclude at 10:30 p.m.
