Bring along your fishing gear, kayaks and paddleboards to take advantage of the calm water adventures on the Chesapeake Bay or make a splash in the campground's two pools. Enjoy the magnificent waterfront views at the on-site Jackspot Bar & Grill to the backdrop of stunning eastern shore bayside sunsets, or cool off with an ice cream at Happy Jack's Café. Nature abounds on the shore in wildlife areas and preserves with hiking or a paddle among wetlands, filled with migratory Songbirds and Raptors. This loop hike is accessed from a short walk from the Bold Cypress Trail and the visitor center. There are no views along this trail but the what I enjoyed was the pine needle covered trail itself. The pine needles are like a soft carpet padding the trail. I enjoy trailing running this loop more than hiking but either can be done.
