Perfect spot for a picnic in the grassy open fields with an awesome view of the Los Angeles skyline. A well-kept oasis on the border of Downtown LA. Rarely gets crowded so you might be lucky and have the whole view to yourself.

Vista Hermosa Natural Park is part of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy and the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority. Located in the western gateway to Downtown Los Angeles, it’s very easy to drive by this hidden gem if you’re not looking for it. This park is the perfect mix of urban and nature with tons to do and plenty of room to spread out.

With numerous features including picnic areas, a nature themed playground, short walking trails, streams and meadows, and even a FIFA regulation soccer field, Vista Hermosa Natural Park has something for everyone. It’s a great place to bring your kids or your dog for a serene slice of nature in the middle of bustling downtown LA. Pack your favorite sandwiches and drinks and spend some time relaxing on the grass. The highlight though has to be the bench that perfectly frames a one of a kind view of the stunning Los Angeles skyline.

A surprise loop that takes you through a variety of environments. Easy and anyone can do it. You would never know that there was a place like this so close to downtown Los Angeles. Parking on site but small.

Never would have known this was here! Great spot, my dad heard about it from a friend in LA, so when we were out exploring, we stopped and had our take out lunch here. Beautiful views.

This place is utterly beautiful considering the surrounding area. By that I mean the hustle and bustle of busy Downtown L.A. Easily hidden away, I wouldn’t have ever known this place existed if it weren’t for this app (I’ve lived in L.A. my whole life). Great place for a morning walk, afternoon picnic or a stroll through the park date. Highly recommend it.

Went there this past weekend and the bench was blocked off with a bunch of orange tape. The city is under going some renovations. The park in itself is beautiful for a picnic.
