Run Runyon Canyon and enjoy some of the most amazing views of Los Angeles. This is a great option for an early morning workout or a sunset date hike.
Located in the Hollywood Hills, Runyon is an iconic workout run/ hike that can give you great views all the way to the ocean. There are a few different loop trails/ hikes you can take ranging from ~1.5mi to 3.25mi all with a decent amount of elevation gain. Also, remember this is Hollywood, so you might spot a celebrity or two...especially with their dogs.
All of the trails are well marked and maintained and are wide enough for multiple people, so you'll definitely not get lost.

Reviews
Most go on hikes to avoid the types of people you’ll run into, along the hike. But if you like people watching and want to catch the odd reality star, then this is the place for you.

It’s a nice walk with even better views. The downside is it can be quite heavily trafficked.

This trail is well known and used to be frequented by celebrities. It offers good views of the area, and the top is usually packed. Last time I was there, there was even a DJ at the top

Whether you are a local or just visiting this is a must do hike. There are various trails ranging in difficulty but each one offers amazing views of LA and the surrounding mountain ranges. The only downside is the street parking which is essentially nonexistent on the weekends or any other day for that matter. Ubering to this gem the best way to go.

It’s a canyon overrun with various irritating people of Hollywood. If you have no experience hiking, go to Temescal or Franklin Canyon. Far less crowded, nicer scenery, and better parking.

Runyon Canyon is an LA staple. You have to do it at least once. The views are some of the best in the city and not to be missed. But if you don't like hiking with tons of people around, you might want to do this once just to say you did, and then check out some other less-trafficked local hikes.

Runyon is a great workout with great views! Parking on the other hand was a nightmare to deal with. Took over 45 min to find a spot!

Great views of downtown and the valley below. Pretty cool seeing a few tv stars enjoying the trail too!

This hike has cool panoramic views of LA and is a great option for those who don't want to venture outside of the city however it's usually extremely crowded and can get very hot as there is not much shade on the trail
