This is a great escape from the city and perfect for the whole family - even the family dog!

Nestled next to the CA-134, this trail presents a relaxing atmosphere while only a 30 minute drive from Downtown Los Angeles and a 5 minute drive from Old Town Pasadena.

From bird-watching to archery, this trail provides a peaceful atmosphere with no lapse in beauty. The trail which is around 1.5 miles long is relatively flat and runs along the Arroyo Seco River. This usually concrete river is diverted for about a mile through tiny streams which create an ever increasing peaceful atmosphere.

Passing under historic and beautiful bridges while listening to the singing of birds and the flow of steady streams this hike has a lot to offer. With a round trip of casual strolling only taking about an hour and a half. You can make this a longer trail by following the trail further along side the RoseBowl and up into the Hahamongna Watershed Park for even more spectacular sights. From where you first park to the Watershed it is about an 8 mile round trip loop so just be prepared water and snack wise.

Lower Arroyo Seco Loop Reviews

First time I came here I was alone and it was kind of creepy, so I didn’t go all the way. Came back with a friend the next time, earlier in the day, and it was better. Keep in mind, it can get pretty hot so make sure to wear sunscreen and bring water. Great places to picnic at the beginning of the trail and great views of the bridge in Pasadena. Lots of parking too and if you’re inclined to, take a few laps at the aquatic center nearby.

Awesome trail to get away from the city

Aside from Griffith, I think this is my new favorite "inner city" LA park that isn't off in the mountains. Quiet, peaceful and plenty of trail.
