Snow Hill Fire Tower, located in Dover, Massachusetts, is a popular hiking destination. The trail leading to the tower is a moderate 2.28-mile loop, with a steady incline that can be challenging for some. The trail is well-marked and maintained, making it suitable for both novice and experienced hikers. The trail features a variety of natural landmarks. Halfway through the hike, you'll encounter a small, clear stream that cuts across the path. Further along, you'll pass through a dense forest of oak and pine trees. The trail also offers views of unique rock formations, adding an element of interest to the hike. The highlight of the trail is the fire tower itself. Standing at 60 feet tall, the tower offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. On a clear day, you can see as far as the Boston skyline. The tower is also a historical landmark, having been used for fire surveillance in the past. For those planning to hike this trail, it's recommended to wear sturdy shoes due to the rocky terrain. Also, bring plenty of water, especially during the summer months. The trail is open year-round, but the best time to visit is in the fall when the foliage is at its peak.
