About this place

Added by Carter Clark

The Los Lobos Canyon is a great crag for hot days, with 5.7 to 5.12 climbs that are almost always in the shade.

This is the first crag you can reach upon entering the Potrero Chico Canyon. The entrance is a scree pile, but there is a path that takes you towards sturdier rocks as you go to the right. If you find yourself battling crumbling gravel after a minute or two while making your way up to the rocks, you need to go farther right.

Some of the routes have metal labels on the wall, helping you orient yourself. Having a guide book is always a good idea at any crag and this one is no exception. The routes range in grade from 5.7 to 5.12, with the tallest being 4 pitches. Like all of Potrero Chico, these are bolted sport climbing routes.

The classics here are Will the Wolf Survive? and Zombie Wolf, but making a full morning out of this spot will leave you happy with the different stuff you can find here.

Because of the shade that is almost always found here, this crag gets full on hot days. There are often multiple parties on Will the Wolf Survive, so if you want to have your go, it would be best to get an early start.
