About this place

Solitude. 360-degree panoramic views. Perfect hammock trees. Fire pits. Montana's unique badlands. Options: campfire chilling, hiking, camping and more!

Terry, Montana is a quaint little Southeastern Montana town of about 600 with great food and friendly people. Just 20 minutes down the road you'll find yourself on top of a bluff in the "Terry Badlands" with endless views in every direction. To get there leave Terry heading north on Highway 253 for 2.1 miles until you reach Scenic View Road. Turn left and head down Scenic View Road until the road ends (5.9 miles) and park your vehicle on top.

Once you get to the top the options are up to you! You could sit on this bluff for hours in complete solitude and not see a single other person for the whole experience. It really is a magical place to watch the sunset and the badlands light up and create dramatic shadows. Cook lunch, string up a hammock to soak it all in, or get active: the options are endless as you can bike, hike or camp from this location. There are no trails, only open country and endless possibilities, a true adventurer's dream.
