Description

Added by Nicole Twu

A simple hike to a beautiful glacial lake.

This is a relatively easy hike starting at the Logan Pass visitor center parking lot, which is very easily accessible via Going-to-the-Sun Road. While you can access this parking lot and trail into the early fall, the visitor center closes in early September, so there is no running water. You'll need to ensure that you pack water. There are bathrooms at the trail head, but if the visitor center is closed, there are only pit toilets.

The first part of the trail, to the overlook, follows a board walk. There is an abundance of wildlife in this area, you're likely to see mountain goats and marmots.

After a short hike, you can stop at the overlook to see out onto the lake. Up until this point, there is almost no elevation change. If you choose to continue on, you'll hike downhill along switchbacks to the shore of the lake.
