Description

Great views of the Missouri River.

The North Shore Rivers Edge Trail East is a moderate trail that has been created mostly by the local biking associations. The trail follows the bluffs on the edge of the river with plenty of twists and turns to keep it interesting.

To access the East section of the North Shore Rivers Edge trail, you can start at either the Ryan Dam Trailhead, or the Sulphur Springs Trailhead near Morony Dam. For the purposes of this information, we used the Sulphur Springs Trailhead as the starting point.

The North Shore Rivers Edge trail is a lollipop trail. Meaning, you start and end on the same trail, but in the middle you do a loop. When you get to the fork in the trail, most people take the left route and stay along the bluffs. Just before the Ryan Dam Trailhead you'll take the right fork and go away from the river for the return.

The ride is approximately 6.9 miles with 700 feet of climbing. It's open to hikers as well and dogs are allowed.
