An easy hike for the whole family that makes for a great hike out and run back just a short drive from the Vegas Strip.

This hike is located along the 13 mile scenic drive in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. To enter the park you will need to pay a $7.00 entry fee per car (or $3.00 fee per bike). About halfway through the drive you will find the upper parking area for the White Rock Spring.  [There may be many cars parked here, but from our experience that does not necessarily mean there will be heavy traffic on the trail. We passed only about 20 people in total despite having to park a ways away from the parking area along the road.] This is where you will begin your hike.

The trail branches off to the West of the parking lot. [If you look on Google Maps the trail is actually called the Grand Cir Loop or the White Rock Loop]. When you begin, the first 3/4 of a mile or so of the trail is a descent and the rest of the hike twists and turns with incredible views of the surrounding red rocks. The trail is slightly uneven at times, but remains relatively easy throughout its course. There are tons of cacti and other plants to keep you interested along the way as you progress deeper into the desert. Do not forget to bring plenty of water as the air out there is incredibly dry and sunscreen is always a good idea! This trail has no covering so you will be in the sunshine the whole time.
