About this place

Added by Outbound

High Point State Park has all the makings for a memorable trip – panoramic views at High Point Monument, ecological diversity at Cedar Swamp, mountain biking, swimming, fishing and more.

You'll need at least a weekend to sample all that High Point State Park has to offer.

One of the park's must-do hikes is to High Point Monument (1,803 ft), where you have panoramic views of the Pocono and Catskill Mountains, and the Wallkill River Valley. Additionally, there are 50 total miles of trail here, some of which is open to mountain biking, horseback riding, and in the winter, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and more.

Other activities include swimming at Lake Marcia, boating on Sawmill Lake or Steenykill Lake, and fishing.

There are 50 tent sites, located on Sawmill Lake, with access to fire rings, picnic tables, and flush toilets, nearby. The sites are open from April 1 to October 31. You might also opt for one of the two group campsites, two cabins, or group cabin.
