About this place

Added by Tyler Cranden

Beautiful nature preserve with a variety of trails, a pond, a creek, and old abandoned farm buildings.

The parking lot on Pleasant Valley Road provides access to the trailhead for this 1.25 mile loop hike.

Starting at the trailhead, take the Ridge Trail (white) going West. The ridge trail is wide and flat, and branches off to many other smaller trails throughout the preserve.

After about 0.25 miles, you will come across the Copper Hill Trail (orange) on your left. Take this trail heading south. The Copper Hill Trail is considerably slimmer than the Ridge Trail and also less smooth. It is important to watch your step in this section because there are small ruts in the trail and broken tree branches lying around. This slender trail also has a rather steep decline almost immediately. After about 0.25 miles into the CH trail, it will begin to level out and start wrapping around to the east.

The trail stays level for approximately 0.4 miles, where it will start to turn North at a moderately steep incline. Continue for approximately 0.35 miles and you will be back at the trailhead / parking lot.
