Ride on the longest aerial tram in the United States and third longest in the world!
Start at the Sandia Mountain base terminal where you can purchase your tickets to ride the tram (Tip: If you make reservations at the peaks restaurant, High Finance, you can get a discount on your ticket). Enjoy the 15 minute ride to the peak while taking in beautiful city views of Albuquerque as well as the valley directly below the tram. Prepare yourself for the "Dip & Swing" as you cross the two different towers on your ascent.
Once you arrive to the peak, take advantage of the scenic overlook to the left of the terminal which helps you locate many points of interests Albuquerque and the surrounding area has to offer. Next, grab a bite to eat at High Finance or just explore some of the various trails that cut through the Sandia Peak.
*During the Winter you can ski the East side of the mountain, which has lifts that run on the weekends.

Reviews
If you do not have time to do the full hike to the top the tramway is a great alternative (and faster). The tram sometimes shuts down if it's too windy, but it operates every season. The view from the top is absolutely beautiful and there are a few shorter trails around the tram so you can see Albuquerque from one side and the ski resort from the other.
