Mt. Marcy is New York's tallest peak standing at 5,343 feet. I recommend starting from the Adirondack Loj parking lot and heading up the Van Hoevenberg Trail past the Marcy Dam.

The ascent up Mt. Marcy is a very strenuous 7.4 mile hike on very large rocks and boulders. Make sure to stop at Phelps Brook to cool down and stop at Indian Falls on the way up for some amazing views.As you get into the alpine zone the hiking gets a little bit harder and requires a little scrambling on boulders.

Once you get to the top you will be awarded with amazing mountain views all around. There is usually a park ranger that will be waiting to greet you at the top and will be able to answer any questions you might have. The hike up Marcy is said to be one of the best hikes out of all of the 46 high peaks in New York.
