Camp at Kittatinny Campground

Barryville, New York

Description

Added by Lara Paul

Ease your non-experienced friends into camping with this great campground right along the Delaware River. Perfect for a fun relaxing time outdoors!

This campground is perfect for a group of friends that want to spend a couple days outdoors camping!

With 350 campsites, there are many different types of sites available: from sites with electricity to sites 3 miles from the main camp. Decide how intense (or not intense) you and your group want to be and book accordingly. A description of the types of campsites can be found here.

Each campsite comes equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring for your inevitable s'mores experience. There is also a store to purchase anything you may have forgotten: like essentials, snacks, firewood or ice. They do not rent camping equipment, like tents or sleeping bags, so don't forget those!

With the river next to the campground, just a quick walk and you're right at the water, so it's easy to create your own fun. You can rent canoes, tubes and kayaks or you can bring your own! Fishing is also allowed, just watch your hook: I'm assuming you don't want to accidentally snag your friend's tube. There is also some easy hiking along the campground to explore other sites and areas you may want to visit next time.

Kittatinny also offers many day activities from river trips and a pool to ziplining, paintball and volleyball (some of these activities are not included in the campground cost, so look into it on the site first).

Overall, Kittatinny is not for the super intense backpacker. But if you want to introduce your less outdoorsy friends to camping, this is a great place to start!
