Hike Sawteeth, Pyramid Peak and Gothics

This 14 mile loop hike makes for a very long day out in the high peaks but very well worth it. Definitely have your camera with you and extra batteries and will also pass by two waterfalls on the loop, Rainbow falls and Beaver Meadow Falls.

Start at St. Huberts parking lot, walk along the lake road towards Lower Ausable lake and head up into the high peaks. The journey will start up the Weld Trail after crossing the bridge. Although there is a separate trail to Rainbow Falls, there is also a perfect lookout on top of the falls point along the Weld. A very clever “Don’t be a dropout” cautions sign for hikers not to venture too close to the edge. The views at the summit of each peak are amazing but Gothic mountain definitely has the best views around. From rainbow falls to the junction for Pyramid and Sawteeth is 1.6 miles. At the junction make a left to go up to Sawteeth 0.5 miles to the top and back down the same way, on your way down once you reach junction keep going straight and you'll see the sign for Pyramid, to the summit is 0.6 miles but get ready for the steepest part of the hike. Once at the summit of Pyramid the views are insanely beautiful, after your done taking all the pictures in the world start making your way to Gothics. 

From Pyramid to Gothics is 0.3 miles. In my opinion Gothics have the best views in ADK. On the way down, just before reaching the lake road, you'll hit Beaver Meadow Falls. Once you reach the falls you're pretty much done with the hike.
