Practice bouldering at North America's largest outdoor rock climbing gym after work. Of course you aren't climbing mountains, but at least the view of the East River isn't too shabby!

Enter at the corner of Adams St. and John St. and see the Manhattan Bridge above you. To your left is the new DUMBO Boulders, the largest outdoor rock gym in North America: at least for now.

At only $9 for a day pass, includes the price of rental shoes, it's a steal compared to any gym in the city. To make things go faster, you can do an online waiver here. They have Ipads that make signing in easy, but the link is for those that can't wait. The gym is open 7 days a week: 12PM - 8PM weekdays and 9AM - 8PM weekends. The facility can fit up to 250 climbers; so make friends!

This is a bouldering gym, so no harnesses. If you are looking for some belaying, this isn't the place. The difficulty is set by color coded holds; if you're color blind, bring a friend! The levels range from VB (beginner - purple) to V10 (advanced - blue).

People of all experience levels can come here and try bouldering for the first time or practice their skills. However, I'd say that this place is probably more for someone that doesn't take themselves too seriously. Being in a popular area, there are bound to be loud kids and people that have no idea what they are doing. But if you live near Brooklyn and want to climb a little outside, with such a cheap price, I'd say go for it!
