Description

The summit of Mount Ollivier is offers amazing panoramic views. If you're planning to make this adventure an overnight at the Mueller Hut, this makes for a great morning hike of 0.6 miles roundtrip with a 436 foot elevation gain. In the winter, this hike requires experience with crampons and ice axe.

Start on the track from the White Horse Hill campground. Follow the track up almost 2,000 steps until you reach Sealy Tarns. From here the track continues steeply up the mountain until you reach the ridge. Continue over the ridge until reaching the hut. From here continue up the ridge to the summit of Mt. Ollivier.

WARNING: In the winter/spring season this track has deep snow and alpine equipment and skill is greatly recommended. Also it is important to check the avalanche danger with the local DOC as avalanches can be frequent on this track.
