In the small town of Kaiteriteri, a grand view awaits you
The Abel Tasman National Park in New Zealand is pretty famous for it's beaches, but just to the South of it is beautiful Kaiteriteri and it's stunning coastal walks.
We parked at Little Kaiteriteri off of Rowling Road and walked to the end of the beach to climb some stairs, to the bluff over to Dummy Bay, then followed the coast onwards to Stephens Bay.
This tramp is mostly pretty easy with just a few strenuous climbs on the hills, but they're well worth it for the views and the workout. The coastal trek takes you through beaches, beach house neighborhoods (what sometimes may seem like someone's literal backyard), and a few trees and woods. You won't get lost if you just follow the coast and keep looking for the next climb to each bays.
Remember it's going to be important to time the tides if you wanna get the most of this trek! We went in the middle of the day, so the beaches were easily accessible. For example, if you're trying to catch the sunset, you may have to park at each different locations instead of doing the trek. It's a great place explore and climb things!
P.S. "Dogs are prohibited in the reserve during summer months (December 1st to March 1st) except between 5:00 am and 9:00 am."
