Wiseman's View

From the parking area, head towards a paved road that leads you to the overlook. The walk to reach the overlook is much shorter than the drive and once you arrive, you'll see that it was all worth it. From what I've seen, there are two overlooks at Wiseman's View and they both offer great views. You will have to go down a flight of steps, however, so I'm not sure if there's an alternate way for those in wheelchairs to access them. I've been to Wiseman's View twice and received a different view and experience both times!

Getting there: Once you head into State Road 1238, you will see a sign that says Wiseman's View but you haven't arrived at the overlook just yet. If you continue driving down the road past the parking area for Linville Falls, then you'll be heading toward the overlook. It takes quite a while to reach your destination and may seem like you're going on forever as you drive down this rocky road for about 4 miles before reaching the parking lot. Do be careful because you will have to share the road and no one wants to be driving recklessly.
