Beautiful hike with 2 water falls and wild berries.

The hike starts with the lower falls at the base of the stairs. the path is paved for this part of the trip.  the lower falls offer a swimming area with rocks to jump off. Once you get past the first falls the path changes to dirt. It is a fairly flat first mile through fields full of wild black berries and blue berries with several areas to camp. Most of the trip is well marked. you will come to a split where you either go right to the loop or across the stream. Cross the stream to get to the upper falls. From there the path gets more rugged. There will be rock an root based steps. The last 1/4 mile you will hit more rocky areas. Once you get to the upper falls the trail will end you at the mid point of the falls. You can climb down a bit to a small wading pool or up to the rock face of the main fall. If you are more adventurous, like we were, you can climb the creeks running down the sides and go to the very top of the falls. Once you are there be very cautious of the wet rocks as they are very slick. It is a nice view looking down with many rocks to sit and relax on. The round trip is 3.6 miles and about a 600 foot elevation rise to the top from the parking lot. Enjoy.
