Description

A lush path through the woods of Ohio displaying several water features and beautiful foliage.
This gravel woods path at Blendon Woods Metropark, just over 1.5 miles, is perfect for a quick hike when visiting the city! You may be close to Ohio's capitol city, but you feel far away in the woods of this park. Come into the main entrance and turn right at the Ranger Station. Park near the natural play area and begin on Overlook path. This path follows a gentle, winding path through the woods, and eventually crosses Ripple Rock creek. After the bridge, you climb up some stairs to overlook the creek. Signs direct you from there to turn right onto Hickory Ridge Path, and about a quarter-mile later, another right turn to Brookside trail, which, as you might gather from the name, let's you walk right next to a very picturesque Brook flowing through the woods! The three paths together make a loop and you will end up at the parking lot you started in. I really enjoyed the tall open trees on this hike, as well as the educational signs throughout that directed you to various unique plant life along the way. Keep an eye out for wildlife as well, I spotted a baby raccoon and a large woodpecker while on the path! This is a perfect hike for all ages and skill levels!

Reviews
This is a nice place to take a pleasant stroll through the woods and along a stream. Lots of wildlife around as well! I'd definitely come back for a lighter trail run.
