Beautiful 77-ft falls (largest in Oklahoma). Natural swimming area. Sandy beaches. Oldest park in Oklahoma. Perfect place to escape the heat. Family-friendly. Picnic areas.

Turner Falls is situated in the Arbuckle Mountains of Oklahoma and at 77-feet tall is the largest waterfall in the state. During the warmer months it offers a perfect escape to swim, relax, and cool off. It's a short walk along the banks of Honey Creek to the falls, and you can find a picnic area to the left of the creek.

This is such a beautiful area - it's hard to believe that it's located in Oklahoma. It's the perfect place for a day trip if you're in Dallas, Oklahoma City, or surrounding areas. If you're traveling from a further distance there are first come-first served campsites available to spend the night. If you've been trying to find a local swimming hole, look no further and check it out!

From May 1 to September 30 there is an entrance fee of $12 for adults and $6 for children. From October 1 to April 30 the entrance fee is $4.

Getting there: If you're traveling north on I-35 take exit 47, and if you're traveling south take exit 51. Both exits will lead you to Highway 77 where you will find a beautiful scenic overlook to the south and the main entrance to the north. Once you enter the park through the main entrance, follow the paved road over a water crossing, then look for signs for the Turner Falls parking lot.

Swim at Turner Falls Reviews

Turner Falls is great. I remember going camping and swimming in the fresh waters pools as a teenager. The spring when the pools were full was the best for splashing around and rock jumping.

I'd stay away from the area during the summer months, its a popular spot so there are hordes of people when it's hot. Avoid the crowds by visiting in late fall or early winter; you won't be able to swim at the falls but you can still walk to the falls and soak in the scenery. I would call the park before heading down there. The falls have been closed on some of my trips due to repairs being made to the road leading to the water. You can still hike to the top of the falls, but it may not be possible to visit below the waterfall if they are going through more repairs.

Going with a good group of close friends made a day-trip here one I won't forget! The views, the cold water, and trails make for an awesome adventure.

Awesome

Terrible camping and trash everywhere. Was way too crowded.

Me and some friends went down to Turner Falls later in summer. Swimming was cold but super fun. The camping experience was horrid. People stayed up the entire night blasting music, there was no firewood anywhere, and trash was lying around all over the place. Alright day trip, awful camp experience.
