Perfect Sunset at Montage Beach

Laguna Beach, California

Description

Added by Douglas Hall

Southern California? Beach? Sunset? You not only want to do this, you need to.

Montage Resort is known for how classy and elegant it is, where you find classy and elegant people you are going to find beautiful places. I'm happy to share this to anyone for its easy location and beautiful aspects. Anytime of the day is awesome, with gorgeous tide pools it makes for a beautiful sunset. Anyways, here's the scoop on how to get to this beautiful beach and what it's like.

 Driving Directions:

If you know where Laguna Beach is it will be easy for you to find, but here's a description based off of people that haven't been in the area before. Taking Laguna Canyon from the 405 freeway, you are going to "T" into PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) and turn left. Once you are on PCH you will be heading roughly 4.4 miles to the Montage Resort. The beach is located just on the other side of the Montage Resort so you will need to find local parking. Across the street there is a big parking lot, that you can't park in so don't try that. There is street parking between Ruby's Diner (just north of Montage Resort) so I'd suggest there. Summer time it is difficult to find spots but winter it should be no problem. They are spots that are metered so be sure to bring change.

Beach Directions: Assuming you parked where I said, it will be a small walk to the beach. You will continue to walk south along PCH to reach the street you will cross to the west side of PCH. The street you will need to turn onto is Wesley Drive, continue walking down the little street and turn right at the stairs that will be on your right. You can walk either way on the path that the stairs end into so take either direction, I suggest take a right and follow the path as it winds in front of Montage Resort. Then take the first stairs you come across that go down to the sand and you will see the tide pools and rocks to your left and a lot of sandy beach area surrounding.

What To Do: There is plenty to do! You will find skim boarders here, plenty of birds and great photo's to shoot during sunset. The tide pools are always great to explore and there are always plenty of people to watch taking wedding pictures and more. Be sure to check high tide times so that you don't get caught off guard. Summer time is the best for beaching it with your friends and winter is my favorite for shooting pictures of the beautiful sunset with minimal crowds because it tends to get a tad bit chillier.

Overall you should visit this beautiful place. With spectacular views and amazing sunsets and weather you can't beat it. There is something for everyone at this beach, whether you happen to be a body surfer, photographer or marine environment enthusiast! Stay rad my friends and check this one out! It's a must do.
