Catch the Super Bloom!

Walker Canyon, normally, is a system of power lines, dry creekbeds, rolling hills, and utility roads northeast of Lake Elsinore. After this winter, we got a real treat: poppies, lavender, and other wildflowers. And they're not exactly hidden among the tall green grass. Parking is fairly easy on the side of the roads. From there, you just walk up Lake Street and once it goes from pavement to dirt, you're there. Most people will be loitering at the closer flowers, but the better ones are further in, as people are plucking them for Instagram and Snapchat purposes.

Those same people also don't want to hoof it in, because they didn't bring water. It gets warm out there, to say the least. The creekbeds are wet and flowing, but I don't recommend drinking the water.
