Spectacular views of Mt. Hood. Swimming in crystal waters. Fishing. Fantastic camping.

Timothy Lake is one very large, man-made lake in the heart of Mt. Hood National Forest, and can be considered one of the best summer camping spots in the area. With more than ten campgrounds to choose from, this area can accommodate almost every type of camping possible - everything from cabin rentals, to tent and RV camping.

Timothy Lake is mostly known for its summer activities. Campgrounds are closed during the winter, yet day-use is accessible to those willing to snowshoe or cross-country ski. The Day Use fee is $5 or by display of the Northwest Forest Pass.

Camping is limited to fourteen days, and varies in price. Most campsites are $20 Standard non-electric per night, with an $8 fee for extra vehicles. Check in and out times are 1pm and 2pm respectively. Reservations are highly recommended during the summer months, although walk-ins are possible.

Boats are permitted on the lake, and certain campsites have specific boat ramps. Pets are welcome in Mt. Hood National Forest and around Timothy Lake as long as owners respect the rules. Around the lake, pets are limited to 2 per site, and must be on a leash at all times.

Camp at Timothy Lake Reviews

We’ve gone every summer for the past five years and it has never gotten old. They sell out campsites quick though so buy in advance!

Great place to get away for the weekend and enjoy some time with friends and family. The views of Mt. Hood make this a very special place to spend a weekend.
