Amazing view from the summit, with near 360 degree viewsBeautiful wild flowers in May and June5 miles roundtrip1,650 foot elevation gain

Steep, difficult but oh so worth it!

The trail isn't to long, just over 2.5 miles up, but has a 1,650 foot elevation gain and many steep rocky scrambles on loose rock. From the parking lot the first mile or so wanders thru a nice forest where you get little glimpses of the coast range thru the trees. Once about 1/2 way up you break out of the trees and are rewarded with some really beautiful views. The trail continues on along an exposed rocky hillside with wild flowers and views out to the beach.

Once on top there is a large area with a safety railing around the summit and amazing views all around. If its a foggy day, don't let that discourage you. Even though you might not have a great view, the mist in the forrest is beautiful, and if your lucky, sometimes the summit sits above the clouds.

Tip...Once back to the parking lot, Canon beach is just a shot drive away. A walk on the beach and a good relaxing dinner at Castaways restaurant is the perfect way to end the day!
