Description

Added by Jess Fischer

Timberline Loop Trail via the Top Spur Trail is an easy, 2.25 mile loop that will provide stunning views of Mount Hood in all seasons.

Starting at the parking area, cross the dirt road to start hiking up from the Top Spur Trailhead. In 0.4 miles you will reach the Pacific Crest Trail intersection, take a right onto the Pacific Crest Trail. In a couple hundred feet you will reach a larger intersection of a bunch of different trails and there will be a wooden kiosk with information about the area. At this point take the trail to your right with a Mount Hood Wilderness sign nailed to the tree. In about 0.4 miles you will come to a clearing and have amazing views of Mount Hood! Take your time during this stretch of trail to enjoy the views and eat a snack if you want. When you're ready, keep hiking for another 0.2 miles at which point you will reach an intersection. Take the connector trail to your left (it is not as distinct as other trails). You will reach another trail intersection at which point you will take another left onto the Timberline Trail #600 to take you back down towards Top Spur Trailhead.

Timberline Loop Trail via the Top Spur Trail Reviews

Bring cramp ons in case because the snow on this trail is a bit random. But god is it beautiful. Totally worth it for the view!
