About this place

Added by Kyle Frost

Catch a spectacular sunrise over the deepest lake in the United States. Easily one of the top 5 sunrises I've ever witnessed. Remember to check what time the sun is supposed to rise beforehand.

Drive to the overlook at Crater Lake well before sunrise. Actually, you should probably just sleep in your car for a bit to make sure you're not late for this incredible sight. Witness the changing colors and light as the sun creeps over the east side of the lake, throwing shadows and reflections around the rim.

You can hike up the ridges near the parking area for to get a different perspective on the view.

Sunrise times vary depending on the time of year, so make sure you check beforehand!

Avoid Spring
A beautiful place no matter what time of year but spring tends to be either very cloudy, very snowy, or both.
