Description

Added by Austin Jackson

This is a great snowshoe/ski down through the woods to a frozen lake that you can walk on.

Starting at the parking lot for Trillium Lake located right off of Highway 26, go past the locked gate and begin walking downhill. After about a mile, you will see a fork in the road. Either way will eventually take you to the lake, but going left will be much quicker and take you to the best spot to see Mt. Hood in the background. Keep going down this path and you will eventually see what looks to be a huge white open field. This is the lake in the summer, but in the dead of winter, it is frozen through. You are able to walk on the lake, and if the day is clear, you can see Mt. Hood behind the far side of the lake. To return, go back the way you came.
