Explore Linn Run State Park

I explored Linn Run back in March of 2016 when the leaves weren't full, leaving my photos disappointingly dull. However, this is a beautiful park part of the Laurel Highlands just east of Pittsburgh. When visiting, whether with the family, your significant other, or alone, you will find plenty to do.

There is 6.25 miles of hiking trails including:

* Adams Falls Trail - 1-mile loop

* Flat Rock Trail - 0.5-mile out-and-back

* Grove Run Trail - 4-mile loop

* Iscrupe Trail - 0.75-mile out-and-back

Linn Run prohibits mountain biking on its hiking trails, however some of them run into Forbes State Forest which allows the activity.

You will find this park accommodates picnicking for family get-togethers very well. Adams Falls and Grove Run provide restrooms, drinking fountains, playgrounds, tables, and grills (certain locations). 

Nine cabins are available to rent year-round, all running along a beautiful stream with plenty of scenery. Linn Run also allows hunting on 400 acres of its 612-acre land and trout fishing. 

This is the most family-friendly place I have visited to-date, whether you want to get away for a weekend or just want to enjoy a day out in nature. I would highly recommend looking more into Linn Run State Park here.
