Description

Added by Jake Sells

Hike through meadows and woods to a shaded waterfall loop with stream crossings and picturesque overlooks.

At the Christman Trailhead, hike a quick, flat 2.5 miles following the yellow trail markers through farm meadows and birch forests to the Falls Trail loop/intersection. Here hike the Falls trail which is a 0.5 mile loop that links back to the 2.5 mile section back to the parking area. Bridges and overlooks make for great views of the creek. I also noticed some small brookies in the stream which I plan on revisiting another time with my fly rod.

Look out for the bird watching blinds are along the meadow sections to see native birds. Trail out and back with time to explore the falls was about 3-4 hours.

Hike the Falls Trail at Beltzville State Park Reviews

I spent my summers boating in Beltzville Lake as a kid but was not aware of these trails or the Wild Creek Falls. These trails are really good with a lot of interesting views. The yellow trail is easy but with a lot of varied views in deep woods and meadows. If you venture off the beaten path when you hear the sound of the falls you will find the top of Wild Creek Falls. Beautiful! The green trail is steeper and more difficult but worth the effort as it takes you down a steep incline to the creek. We saw chipmunks playing there. The blue and white trail is fairly steep buthis will get you to the bridge that takes you to the base of Wild Creek Falls. Seriously a hidden jewel! Take the time to do this hike! It’s so worth it!
