Epic diving along the coast with reefs and shipwrecks
There are dozens of places to dive around Coron. We did 3 days with 3 dives each day. We booked with a cool guy named Arnie with Coron Divers. There are lots of dive centers though. Each go to pretty much the same spots, just on different rotations. We did a few coral reef dives that I don't know the name of, but the highlights were certainly the ship wrecks. We dove East Tangat wreck, Morazan wreck, Kogyo Maru, Lusong, Akitsushima, and Okikawa Maru. The only reef name I can remember is what they called the Coral Garden. All of these spots were super cool. My absolute favorite was the Okikawa Maru, epic ship wreck that was bombed during WWII. It sank almost perfectly on its keel so you can see the size and spot where the bombs destroyed the front of the ship.
There was so much to see both in terms of the shipwrecks and the wildlife surrounding it, I can't possibly go into detail about all of it. We booked our days with the dive center and they pretty much set up the itinerary for us. So if there is a spot you want to go, call around and make sure that the dive center is going there that day. We did the 3 days, and on the 4th day it seemed that the cycle started over again. The awesome part is that they provide lunch as well, so you really don't have to worry about much. Bring some snacks and some water. Sunscreen is always a good idea, but otherwise they look out for ya. Tip for the gents with facial hair, to seal your mask a bit better, use some petroleum jelly, apply liberally. It will help seal your mask far better.
