I drove to the Bay Area in California from Washington for my grandpa's memorial this weekend. We had just a few hours on Saturday to go for a drive so we went out to Yosemite. We arrived in the park at 6:00pm with sunset at 6:10pm. I followed directions to Tunnel view because I knew we didn't have time to hike anywhere. When we arrived at 6:30 the sun had already set but the glow of dusk lit up the granite. This was a magical place to stop on our long road trip home and I'd highly recommend it at sunrise or sunset!

I hiked Sauk Mountain yesterday morning (June 20th, 2016) for the first time and loved it! The switchbacks take you quickly up to the summit. There was one patch of snow to cross on the back side of the mountain to get to the true summit. I'd recommend boots/microspikes and poles for a couple more weeks! Stunning views!
