The best spot in San Diego to watch the sunset. Plenty of areas to hang out. Well known for amazing surf. Amazing photography opportunities. Convenient stair access down to the beach.

One of San Diego's hidden gems. This beach offers an incredible and beautiful view any time of the day. My favorite time to go to this beach is during the sunset. There is a set of stairs just north of the parking lot that leads down to the cliffs where you can sit, hang out, and relax. It's also a very popular spot for surfers and photographers.

There are a few parking spots in the lot indicated on the map and there is plenty of street parking in the surrounding area. This beach is great for families, children, and dogs! There is so much to do at this beach - you will not be disappointed. It is nicely tucked away from the crowded La Jolla Shores, has so much to offer and is truly one of San Diego's best beaches.

For my first trip to the area this was a great spot for photographing sunsets. Not as many tourists when I was there. Need to watch the tides- rock vs sand and where to set up the tripod. Worth packing the tripod for long exposures.
