Fort Mason
San Francisco, California
Description
Added by Christopher Bobel
Fort Mason offers gorgeous views of the Golden Gate, a well-manicured lawn, and a communal vibe making a great spot to relax on sunny days.
When the sun comes out in San Francisco, Fort Mason's Great Meadow Park transforms into ground zero for bocce ball, corn hole, wiffle ball, music, dancing, wine, and beer. While it lacks the diversity and quirkiness found at Dolores Park, it makes up for it with a beautiful panoramic view of the Golden Gate and the Bay and good vibes. If you're looking to celebrate a sunny summer day in the city, Fort Mason is the perfect place to set up camp. Parking is easy and a Safeway is right across the street for all of your last minute needs.

Fort Mason Reviews
One of my favorite things to do in San Francisco is find a local park/green space and have a picnic! This is a great spot for doing exactly that. Very popular on weekends, though. Beautiful views.

The hostel right on the premises was extremely convenient and affordable. Having access to this green space (pictured) and the fisherman’s wharf and other areas attractions was extremely clutch.

Can get pretty crowded on nice days in the late summer and fall, but nonetheless a great spot to relax in the sun. As Amanda said, if you bring your food from OTG up there, you can beat the crowds of the parking lot and enjoy your feast!
