Head out on a leisurely walk to the beautiful Calla Lily Valley located near Big Sur, California. Enjoy beautiful views of the beach and a bluff lined with succulents and wildflowers.

Parking for Calla Lily Valley is available along the dirt pullout at Gate 19 for Garrapata State Park, near mile-marker 63. Signs are small and difficult to see. Follow the path between the guide wires and take the right fork, heading north to the bluff overlooking the beach. Continue north and follow the trail down the stairs to Doud Creek, where the Calla Lilies bloom in the valley in late winter and spring. Follow the trail through the valley out to Garrapata Beach.

Note: Per NPS.gov, dogs are permitted with a leash on the beach at Gate 19 (on the south end of the park) and trails leading to it. Dogs are not allowed in all other areas.

Calla Lily Valley Reviews

Stumbled across this jem the other day. We could not resist the vibrant color of the water. Great photo opportunity and perfect for a quick visit to the beach!

This is a hidden gem. There are no explicit signs that direct you to the calla lilies, but the Description above does a pretty good job at leading you to the valley. Unfortunately with the California drought, most of the calla lilies were not in full bloom, but it's still scenic and the walk along the cliff side is beautiful.
