Pidgeon Point Lighthouse is conveniently located just 50 miles south of San Francisco. Constructed in 1872 and standing at 115 feet, it is among the tallest lighthouse in America.
Part of the state park system, it is surprisingly secluded. Numerous parking space were available in the lot with handicap access. Adjacent to the lighthouse is a hostel. Opens 8am - sunset.
Continue towards the path past the lighthouse is a bridge that crosses a watery ravine that leads you to a outlook point overlooking the Pacific. A man-made platform (stronger than it looks) protrudes out from the cliff over the ravine. There were also a couple picnics available nearby.

The Pidgeon Point Lighthouse sits perched atop a coastal cliff offering a dramatic landscape view. I highly recommend a stop to see it!

I stopped along Highway 1 on my way to a hike! Great little spot that has parking and even a tiny gift shop. I really liked that it had various lookout points and the rock formations with the ocean made it even more breathtaking. It’s a bummer that it is chain link fenced off...but there are angles you can take photos of that hide that! Also, make sure to take a look at the date of the lighthouse embedded above the front door. I thought that was pretty neat. Definitely worth the stop.

Such a beautiful lighthouse! I definitely recommend staying a night at the hostel. Get there early to put your name on the list for the hot tub that sits overlooking the ocean! (It's only for guests who are staying the night!) The rocky cliffs are such a beautiful sight to wake up to, and you can spend the next day exploring the town of Pescadero.

Nice spot for catching the sunset-- going to have to return during the right time of year for some milk way photographs!

This light house is so photogenic! Took a couple here for their engagement photos and they're some of the best I've taken. Definitely try and book a night here at the hostel too!
