Hike along the Middle Saluda River, South Carolina's first designated scenic river, en route to to a beautiful 50 foot cascading falls!

For Caesar's Head State Park access, head North from Pickens on HWY 178 until it intersects with HWY 11. Turn right onto HWY 11 North and continue for 10 miles until the 276 intersection where you veer off to the left. Follow 276 to the top of the mountain. 1 miles past the Caesars Head Visitors center park in the horseshoe on the right side of the road. The Tom Miller Trail trailhead is on the west end of the parking lot.

Take The Tom Miller trail .7 miles until it intersects with the Jones Gap Trail (Blue Blazes) at a stream crossing. This .7 miles is a steep and rooty descent. After you join the Jones Gap Trail, follow the blue blazes 4 miles through stream crossings and dense hardwood understory. Stop midway to read about "The Winds," a famous switchback overlooking the Middle Saluda which once was a road where locals traveled with horse and carriage. As you approach the falls, you will see a small wooden sign reading "Jones Gap Falls" which directs you to a 100 ft spur trail on the left. Follow this spur right up to the base of the falls!

*This falls can also be accessed from Jones Gap State Park on the same Jones Gap Trail.
