Beautiful trail with lots of wildlife and wildflowers.

This trail is located in the Seven Islands Birding State Park. This park is east of Knoxville only about 20 minutes from downtown Knoxville. The park is small but there is plenty of beauty and lots of hiking trails in the area. At the beginning of the trail there is a gorgeous flower garden and a picnic area that provides a great place to look for and watch birds. This trail is one of the more popular trails. The trail is paved and almost completely flat the whole way. The trail offers some amazing fields of wildflowers that are full of birds and wildlife. Along the way there are several interesting barns and a turn of the century house to check out. At the end of the trail there is a river viewing area and an old stable. The trail is an out and back so the total is about 1.25 one way then 1.25 back. If you are biking this trail be sure to stay on the pavement and not to park your bike or ride through the fields to hurt the vegetation.
