Mae Klang Waterfall is a scenic waterfall at the end of a wide easy walking path near the eastern entrance gate of Doi Inthanon National Park. At about 30 meters in height, the waterfall tumbles over a wide wall before continuing downriver in a series of fast-moving rapids and cascades.
Although falling under national park jurisdiction, the entrance is just outside of the park gate, and so Mae Klang has its own small gate where visitors can show their park entrance pass or purchase one (tickets purchased here are good for entry to all other Doi Inthanon National Park areas as well).
There are scenic areas and picnic benches covered by shade trees along the riverbank below, but swimming is not allowed.
At the falls, a set of stone steps leads to a gazebo for viewing, while a single track dirt trail climbs beyond the gazebo and continues upriver and into the park, passing some large riverside boulders where hikers can sit and enjoy the view along the way.
One area of interest up this trail is a cliff face with examples of pictograph rock art carved into the stone.
There are restaurants and vendors in the parking area, and bathrooms once inside the entrance gate. The walk from the parking area to the falls is about 450 meters following a slight incline.
As part of Doi Inthanon National Park, Mae Klang Waterfall is subject to park hours and fees.
