Explore These Temples in Cambodia

Visit the land of the ancient gods.

By: The Outbound Collective + Save to a List

Between the 9th and 15th centuries, in modern-day Cambodia, the Khmer Empire ruled. It was the largest empire in Southeast Asia, and in Angkor, spectacular temples were built to honor Hindu, and then Buddhist, beliefs.

Visiting the Angkor region today is full of cultural exploration, with the opportunity to see the remains of a massive civilization. Sure, it's a little bit of a trek to get to Cambodia, but temples aren't the only draw. Hiking, biking, touring...this is a wild country and absolutely worth the trip.

Here are ten of our favorite spots to visit in Angkor.
