Description

Added by Will Ross

A 80-mile road cycling loop in a wild corner of North-West Scotland, gaining 1300m in elevation on stretches of pristine tarmac.

From the landing in Corran, this loop can be taken clockwise across the Movern and Ardamurchan peninsulas, strips of desolate turf that hike into the sky south-west of Fort William, Scotland's foremost mountain biking and adventure hub. With a handful of Gaelic place names serving as waypoints, the undulating loop to Glenuig serves as an ideal midpoint. Grab lunch at the Glenuig Inn before slicing a route via the Jacobite Glenfinnan Monument, a landmark that prompts a swift finish into Fort William. Vibe: Look out for dripping biomes, moody mists and miles of rolling seaboard tarmac.
