Hike the Pap of Glencoe

Begin the hike at the above coordinates and follow the path a few hundred feet along the road before diverting left through a gate and up an open field. Shortly after beginning up the hill, you'll come to fork. Follow the path over the footbridge and begin your journey to the Pap of Glencoe!

Start early as the initial parking area fills up quickly. If you leave before 9:00am, there's a solid chance you'll be able to enjoy the summit in complete solitude. It's well-worth the early(ish) wake up call.

The trail is easy-to-follow and offers stunning views from the start. In the beginning, you'll encounter multiple sets of steep switchbacks as you make your way to the summit. There's no bad place to take a break, as the sights are stunning from the very beginning.

About halfway to the summit you'll encounter another fork in the trail. Hang left toward the Pap of Glencoe. The trail will then level out on a wide saddle for a quick break before the final push.

The final 500ft to the summit are made up of more steep, rocky switchbacks, but eventually open up to a wide summit and views that trail on for miles. Pack a lunch, enjoy the view, and claim your spot atop one of Glencoe's most scenic summits!
