Description

Added by Lewis Hackett

Walk alongside spectacular white chalk stacks believed to be named after a local notorious pirate named Harry Paye!

From the car park in Studland village, take the lane (Manor Rd) down by the Bankes Arms pub (it should be on your right). Turn left by the public toilets on to the path signed for Old Harry. Continue along this path for approximately 30 minutes and you'll eventually reach the coast and Old Harry rocks. There are also various coastal lookout points along the way to your left (when heading to old Harry rocks).

Hike to Old Harry Rocks Reviews

I hiked out this bluff from the Swanage bay - parked on a country road and the path carried up from beside a farmhouse. This way was steep but short - no more than 3/4 mile. The bluff is very windswept with tall grass and an easy flat path out to view Old Harry Rocks

Beautiful place! Went in the spring time and it was absolutely perfect! Can imagine if you hit bad timing with the weather but it's something to look at before you go! Would definitely do it again

Spent my childhood holidays in the area and have done this hike a fair few times. The views are fantastic and it's a nice easy route. There's a small woodland on the route which in the spring is covered in wild garlic, fantastic to photograph and the smell is unbelievable.
