This is a great spot to go fishing just out of St. George and just relax and have some fun.
This is a great spot for fishing just out of St. George. You can catch a variety of species like largemouth bass, black crappie, bluegill, black bullhead, and rainbow trout. When reaching the reservoir there is a boat ramp if you have a boat to fish from. To launch there is a ten dollar fee because it is a State Park. If you do not have a boat there are lots of opportunities for shore fishing along the lake which can be just as effective. There a a few turnouts on the side of the road that you can park at and then walk down to the lake. There is also a fishing dock near the boat ramp. From the shore we used Jake's Lures and Kastmasters to catch rainbow trout. Make sure to come prepared if you are fishing in the winter as it can get cold. Also be ready for the heat in the summer. Camping is available at the lake and there is a fish cleaning station. Overall this is a great spot to head out and fish and it is just a few minutes out of town. Make sure to clean up after yourself to keep it beautiful and good luck fishing!
