About this place

Added by Kim Baker

This campground has incredible views of Mount Timpanogos and is right by the trailhead.

The Timpooneke Campground sits at 7,400 ft. elevation with views of Mount Timpanogos and campsites surrounded by beautiful aspen, fir and spruce trees. The leaves in the fall put on a show you will not want to miss.

Within the campground there are 9 equestrian sites, 1 large group site and 20 standard campsites. You can reserve your campsite in advance or pay with cash when you get there (reservations are recommended, especially in the summer). It's $21 per night for a single campsite equipped with a picnic table, utility table and a campfire ring. Vault toilets are also available throughout the campground.

Just a short walk down the road from campsite #18 where we stayed is one of the most popularly photographed locations of Mount Timpanogos. Perfect for sunset or sunrise.

Take Highway 92 up American Fork Canyon. Follow the south fork east along the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway. You'll pass the Mount Timpanogos trailhead parking lot leading you up the road to the campground nearby.

Campground
One of my favorite campgrounds in all of Utah. There’s a nice river running through and easy access to a lot of trails.
