About this place

Added by Josiah Roe

Cheap & easy camping in the Colorado River Canyon only 15 minutes from downtown Moab with direct access to some of the best climbing in the area.

Williams Bottom Campground and its 17 first-come first-serve campsites are tucked into the side of the Colorado River Canyon on Utah Highway 279 aka "Potash Road" just 15 minutes from downtown Moab.

It is commonly known as one of *the* rock climbing campground on the west side of Moab, as there are numerous climbing routes all along State Highway 279 aka "Wall Street", several of which are directly accessible from the campground itself. Further, the popular Poison Spider 4WD  hiking trailhead is just south of the campground.

To get there take State Highway 279 5.5 miles from its junction with U.S. Highway 191 north of Moab and just south of the entrance to Arches National Park.

No water is available but there are toilets and trash facilities. Costs are $15 per vehicle per campsite a night.
