The Bells Canyon Trail via Granite Trailhead in Sandy, Utah, is a challenging hike that offers rewarding views. The trail spans approximately 3.05 miles round trip and is rated as difficult due to steep inclines and rocky terrain. Hikers should be prepared for a strenuous workout. The trail begins at the Granite Trailhead and winds its way up through a canyon, offering views of the surrounding mountains and valley. About halfway through the hike, you'll reach the Lower Bells Reservoir, a man-made lake that provides a scenic backdrop for a rest or picnic. Continuing on, the trail becomes steeper and more rugged, leading to the Upper Bells Reservoir. This part of the hike is particularly challenging, but the views of the lake and the towering granite cliffs that surround it are worth the effort. Hikers should bring plenty of water, wear sturdy footwear, and be prepared for changing weather conditions. The trail is best used from April until October, and dogs are allowed but must be kept on leash.
